Reaching Youth
- Momentum Club - A Faith-based leg to the Aevidum Club, bringing awareness to Depression & Suicide in our local schools
-Pathfinder Mentoring - We parnter with Pathfinder, a local ministry using high school students volunteers to mentor middle school and elementary school students.
-Released Time - We work with Released Time, a ministry of Joy El Ministries, to reach elementary school students 1 hour a week during school. The students volunteer to be bussed to a church where they receive Biblical instruction, sing songs, listen to stories, and learn Bible verses to win prizes!
-Individual Mentoring - We meet regularly to mentor and encourage teens who are struggling. We've are developing an 18 month program to take teens through to help them mature; providing a better opportunity to evelop into a more successful and more stable adult.
-Parenting Class - We help parents who are struggling with difficult teens by offering a parenting class/support group. This is a 9 week class using the curriculum from HeartLight Ministries' "Dealing With Today's Teen" video series. Parents are given a workbook that helps them understand their teen and gives them tools to implement with the parenting style to help the teens grow and mature.
-Community Involvement - We see the value of partnering with our local community. Our Exec. Director, Rod Redcay serves on Denver Borough Council, serves as GOP Committeeman, sits on Cocalico Youth Aid Panel, Cocalico Education Foundation, and Cocalico Community Partnership. We also connect weekly with local pastors to pray for our community and monthly with the Cocalico Ministerium. We feel that it takes a community to raise a child and in order to effectively fulfill that desire, we need to work together as a community to make it happen.
